McKenna, aka Polka Dot Dog, is a seven-month-old blue merle rough Collie puppy. It is hard to capture the essence of a puppy in photos. We have taken a short video as well (which is quite remarkable considering who took the video). McKenna adores men, women, children of all ages and every dog she has met. She is high energy and super smart. She saw the other dogs walk through the wall (doggie door) so she did, too. She housebroke herself in a few short days and is learning the basic commands that make her a delight to have around. But the most appealing things about this little girl are her capacity for love and her sense of humor. She will turn herself inside out if it will make her humans laugh. And she will curl into a little ball of fluff to cuddle, especially if she is sleepy. We do crate McKenna overnight, happily snoring beside her foster mom. After all, we need to sleep occasionally too and know that everything and everyone are safe. McKenna deserves to be a full-fledged member of the family. We will only consider applications from humans who either work from home or who may be retired but still quite active. Kenna especially shines when she is with kids so let's give her a couple of kids to call her own. Secure fenced yard of course and a friendly pooch or two to play tug with. It is great fun to see her play tug with Pinky or Jack, both big rough Collies siblings in her foster home. McKenna came to us from a municipal shelter with a possible seizure disorder. For a solid month, she has had no inkling of anything unusual. The incredible stress of a crowded shelter or the adjustment to a complex pack at our Director's house should have produced an electrical issue if there is one to be seen. Let's get together and make some magic for McKenna!
