Miss Kitty (who is mighty pretty!) is a 2 year-old spayed female red sable Sheltie.  Her health is excellent and her socialization is coming along well.  She is one of the eight dogs from the hoarder confiscation in Casper, Wyoming.  These dogs knew nothing of humans.  Their lives were spent in a dirt patch with tons of other dogs, reproducing so that their pups could be sold to feed the woman who lived there.  They were covered in poop and pee and fleas.  That does not sound much like the lives our precious dog companions enjoy, does it?

One of Miss Kitty's nicknames is "Chicken Legs" and it is hard to see in her glamour photos, but she is petite at 20# and very light boned.  She walks so quickly it is almost a trot and when she moves more quickly, she seems to dance.  She eats and drinks well but is reluctant to potty where she can be seen, so we have to guess if she is eliminating.  Kitty will need the companionship of another dog to help her learn all about being a beloved pet, a life she can't wait to have.

Please read the information on our website concerning adoptions and complete the online  application.  Our IT folks made it so easy that even I could do it.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
