Fauna is a ten-year-old spayed female Sheltie that is short and round.
At 28#, she needs to lose 10# to look and feel marvelous. Her
bloodwork is good and there is no reason she can't waddle along and
eat less until she is svelte and beautiful. (I wonder if there is a
Sweatin' to the Oldies for pooches.) She has such a lovely face and
soulful eyes. On a half a cup of kibble twice a day with some
pumpkin, carrots and green beans, she will trim down in just a couple
of months.

Fauna was housebroken in an earlier part of her life and seems to be
again. She answers to her name and her fluffy wagging tail
practically knocks her over with excitement. She is not fond of young
children and shy of strangers. Neither of those are a surprise to
Sheltie folks. She likes other Shelties and has been in a multiple
Sheltie household.

Whoever fosters Fauna will no doubt fall in love with her. That can
be said of nearly all of the RMCSR dogs. That is the primary reason
we are always looking for new foster families. Shelties are like
potato chips. No one can have just one!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
