Missy is a gentle and tender 2-year-old sable merle rough coated Collie.  She is spayed and microchipped, has all of her vaccines and normal bloodwork including having negative heartworm status.    Almost all Collies are gentle even when they are young and silly and bouncing off the walls.  But Missy is even more tender, like she has been emotionally wounded by a human.  We will work every day to regain her trust in humanity.

I am not sure that I can give an adequate description of who would make the best family for darling Missy.  Perhaps we will have to move forward and review applications for other dogs and see what the universe has in store for the girl.  In the meantime, Missy will hang out here with our Director and be treated like the little princess that she is.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
