WE NEED A COMPLETED ADOPTION APPLICATION BEFORE WE CAN DISCUSS ANY PARTICULAR DOG.  YOU WILL FIND IT ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  PLEASE READ  ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION.  WE HATE TO DISAPPOINT PEOPLE BUT THE FENCED YARD IS ETCHED IN STONE.

Kent is new to RMCSR and so we don't know a lot of details about him.  He is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male sable-and-white rough coated Collie.  He is malnourished but is eating well and putting on a couple of pounds should not be an issue.

His manners needed to be refined.  He jumps up on people for affection.  And there is some counter surfing which is not unusual with a hungry dog.  He has just been neutered and is still displaying some dominant behavior with other males.  Previous Collie owners will be given priority when it comes to placement.  Another female Collie would be a fabulous teacher for Kent.

Neutered, all vaccines, microchipped and ready to rock and roll.  All you add is love.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
